GOAaaaaaaaaa!!!!! The best place to chill out ;)

Goa!!!  Best place to forget everything and to have a great time which offers all kinds of fun and food :)
Goa Beaches, white sand, The shacks at the beaches, Water sports all makes it a best Holiday!!! The best time to go is during Christmas and New Year but we planned to visit Goa during the Carnival in Feb..

Goa is a tropical paradise, it is bathed by the warm waters of the Arabian Sea.
The culture of Goa is a blend of Indian and Iberian: European style central squares and Indian bazaars, Portuguese churches sharing their walls with Hindu temples. You ll get to see everything here!!

Our holiday started from Bangalore where we boarded a sleeper bus from Paulo travels at 8 in the evening .. We reached Goa(Margao) in the morning.. pretty late though !! at about 11... We headed straight to Royal Palms where we had our booking.. The Royal palms resort is a studio apartment very near to the "Benaulim Beach"

We headed to Martin's Corner one of the best eat out not to miss when u are in Goa.. :) Martin's Corner is in Margao and is an awesome place for all seafood lovers...

After our brunch at Martin's Corner we wanted to see places around Margao... We visited 2 churches around that place "Monte Hill Chapel, Margao and Monte Benaulim Chapel" both of which are calm place away the city...

Finally we went to the Benaulim beach where we spent the whole evening sitting right next to the sea shore... The shacks there make it a beautiful place to dine ... ;)

Day 2 had lots of plans!!! After a morning walk at the beach we started with Old Goa Churches which is 9Km east of Panjim... The churches in Goa largely reflect European architectural styles. Some of the old buildings are converted into museums maintained by Archaeological Survey of India.

In Old Goa the most famous church is the "Basilica of Bom Jesus". This is located on the right side of the Cathedral and was built in the 16th Century. A massive structure of Basilica of Bom Jesus is popularly known as the Church of St. Francis Xavier, the Patron saint of Goa, whose body was placed in the new silver casket and the remains are enshrined here.

The Cathedral -->The interior of the church is magnificent and has a vaulted ceiling, which overwhelms the visitor by its sheer grandeur, with its exquisite masterpiece of art and architecture.Adjacent to the church is the Archaeological Museum.

After Old Goa we were excited to visit the Chapora Fort which is where the Dil Chahata hai movie was shot!! The fort of Chapora, is 25kms from Panaji.Vagator beach is situated at the back of this Fort. It gives a magnificient beatiful view of the beach from the fort...

By the time we had the best of Chapora fort it was time to go back to Panaji/Panjim for the "Goa Carnival 2010" The Goa Carnival festival is held every year in the month of February and lasts for three days.It is one of the eagerly awaited events of the year and tourists visit from all places for this carnival. The Carnival of Goa is the time to indulge in feasting, drinking and merry making. Goa comes to life due to a multi-cultural essence.

The carnival starts with a magnificent display of colorful floats. Floats, parades, bands, balls and dances together symbolize the Goa Carnival. Groups of masked revelers dressed in dazzling costumes sing and dance to the tunes of the renowned musicians.

The day ended with all the memories of carnival.. :)

The last day in Goa and we had to make the most of it!! The beach offers various water sports which includes parasailing, Banana boat ride, Jet Ski ride and Ring O ride :) :)

Parasailing is the best of all where you get to see the never ending beautiful coastline of the beach. It feels like you are on top of the world..

Banana ride is also fun where in you go on a banana shaped boat way into the sea and they tilt you there :D

Jekski is the bike you can ride on water... You ll be amazed with the speed you can go with!!!

Last.. the Ring O ride where you sit on a tube and they ll pull you using a speedboat..

One more thing benaulim beach offers is the dolphin ride which you can do early in the morning...
We can spot lots of black and grey dolphins!!!!!

With all this FUN we ended our long weekend in Goaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
